Keeping Our Streetlights On - Keeping Us Safe
Our electric company, Ameren Missouri, leases our street lights to us. We pay them to maintain the lights, in addition to the electricity they require.
Everyone wants to keep our neighborhood's streetlights in working order, but we need your help to make this happen.
It is the responsibility of the homeowners that are close to the lights to alert Ameren to the problem, whether it be a downed pole,
a non-functioning light, or even a light that stays on when it isn't needed, wasting electricity and increasing our bill.
Reporting the Problem:
If a homeowner is aware of other problems with the lighting, please contact Ameren (see methods below), as well as the Trustees,
providing them with the date that you reported the problem to Ameren.
Note: Ameren expects there to be a number on the pole that you must provide to them when reporting the problem.
You can refer to the photos below for examples of what they look like.
However, if you are unable to find an identification marker on the pole, please give them the address or addresses closest to the pole.
Don't forget: After the problem is fixed, please notify the Trustees once more so that we may get reimbursed
for the time the light(s) are malfunctioning.
Preventing Problems:
Ameren will cut back any tree limbs that are covering the poles or wires.
If you know of any in that condition, please call Ameren and request that they do this.
Saving Money:
Some of you may have noticed that some of the street lights are now brighter after having been replaced.
These new lights use Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology, and they save power as well as being brighter.
Ameren will likely not replace the older technology bulbs merely on request, but will probably replace them
with the newer LED lamps as the older lights fail.

Examples of Streetlight Identifying Markers:
Here are two examples of identification markers on Ameren streetlight poles. The vertical ones are newer and more legible, so they are preferred for reporting issues.
